Food is the ultimate medicine. It is the fuel that each and every cell in your body runs on, and the correct type of food for your body is of vital importance to your health and longevity. So then what is the correct food for your body? Is a low fat diet the best way to stay slim and healthy? Is a vegetarian diet the healthiest choice for health? What is the best anti aging diet and what are the best anti aging supplements?
Hippocrates once said;
“Let your food be your medicine and let your medicine be your food”
This statement is of profound importance once you start to see how sick and unhealthy our current population has become; and the number one factor that has caused this in my opinion is the wrong food choices we have made. Forget about thinking that you can take a few anti aging supplements and eat whatever you like and you will be healthy – that is just not going to work!
The food that you eat is far more important to your health than any anti aging natural supplement will ever be. If you do not give each of your cells exactly what they require in your food, you will not be healthy for very long, and premature aging and disease will soon take a hold of your body.
Anti Aging Foods
The food we eat can be broken down into 3 main macro-nutrients; proteins, carbohydrates and fats. These are the 3 main building blocks of our body and are essential for life. All foods, either from animal or vegetable, contain some of each of these 3 nutrients.
Proteins come mainly from foods such as meats, poultry, fish, dairy foods, nuts, and a small amount in vegetables. The algaes’, such as spirulina and chlorella, also contain protein in high quantities. Proteins provide the structural strength of our cells and body (our muscle are essentially all protein), and are necessary for the healthy functioning of our immune system. They are needed for normal enzyme function also, and enzymes control all the biochemical reactions in our body.
Carbohydrates come from fruits, vegetables and grains, and provide instant energy for our body and our cells.
Fats come from oils, nuts, seeds, meats, poultry, fish, and dairy, and are very important as the primary fuel for our cells (together with oxygen). They are necessary for the structural integrity of all our cell membranes and they facilitate oxygen transfer from the blood into the cells (but only the good fats can do this). Fats (cholesterol in particular) are necessary for the production of all our sex hormones, including testosterone, progesterone, estrogen, and also DHEA. Fats make up about 40% of our brain tissues, and they also provide insulation for the body, and are the primary method the body has to store energy for future use. Fats are therefore critical for normal health and for antiaging.
So then what is the best combination of these macro-nutrients for anti aging and for total health?
Well the answer to that is that there is no one perfect combination of nutrients for all people. We all have genetic differences, different blood types, different hormonal profiles, different metabolisms, and different oxidizing rates.
One Man’s Food is Another Man’s Poison
Alaskan Eskimos thrive on large quantities of meat and fat with very little or no fruits or vegetable. They have excellent immunity and excellent cardiovascular health with no sign of heart disease.
Australian Aboriginals have incredible strength and fitness and endurance and perfect eyesight at any age and their diet consists of insects, grubs, berries, and meat from kangaroo and wallaby.
African Masai tribes are renowned for their extraordinary physical and mental health and they eat mainly the meat and milk and blood from their cattle.
Swiss villagers living high in the Alps under extreme weather conditions have superb physical development and lead very long and healthy lives. They eat a primitive diet of whole rye bread and large quantities of high fat cheese and cream, and raw goat’s milk.
Why is it that these cultures can eat the foods they do (which by modern standards are considered unhealthy and dangerous), yet enjoy superb health and longevity?
Are these true anti aging diets for these people and are the foods they eat true anti aging foods that make this a genuine anti ageing diet? Well for the answer to this question we have to go back into our history.
Over thousands of years of evolution, people in different parts of the world have adapted to very different and distinct nutritional requirements in response to many factors such as, climate, geography and what where the available foods to them.
As a result of this we all have a very wide range of nutritional requirements when it comes to the macro-nutrients of protein, carbohydrates and fats.
The Perfect Anti Aging Food For You Is…
Anti aging foods are therefore foods that are perfectly suited to your genetics and to your individual metabolic make up. Based on your genetics and your ancestry, it is quite possible that your basic dietary needs are easily defined. For example, say your ancestors are Greek, you would expect therefore that your perfect diet will be one which includes lots of fish, olive oil, garlic, salads, cheese, pasta, beans and wine, i.e, the typical Mediterranean diet.
It is not however as easy or as simple as that. While your ancestral diet is of major importance in working out what your perfect diet for anti aging is, it is not the only factor. Our nutritional needs are also influenced greatly by our environment and also by the lifestyle that we lead. Both of these have changed a lot over the last 100yrs.
Also, our nutritional needs are not set in stone; they can change year to year, even month by month or day by day, as our bodies strive to adapt to our environment and to our internal homeostatic system.
There is new and exciting technology which can now effectively determine exactly what is your perfect diet. This technology takes into consideration your genetic make-up, your hormonal balance, your nervous system balance, your oxidative or energy burning rate and numerous other factors.
By precisely determining exactly what your metabolic type is, a specific Anti Aging Dietary Program can then be determine for YOU specifically.
By following this specific diet that is perfect for you, your health will be drastically improved; you will lose weight effortlessly if your over-weight, or gain weight if your under-weight, you will have lots of energy and vitality, you will feel hunger free for hours, your physical performance will be much improved, anxiety or depression will be relieved, your immune system will be boosted, and any illness or health problem will be reversed or improved considerably.
The reason is that now your body and your cells will be able to use the correct fuel that they need to function at their optimum level. No anti aging vitamin or nutrient can ever be as important to your body and cells for anti aging as is the perfect food for you. Whilst anti aging vitamins can certainly help, they are certainly not as important to your complete health than your perfect anti aging foods are, as foods are the building blocks of all your cells, your organs and all your body. Vitamins for anti aging can only work effectively after you have found your metabolic type and you follow the correct diet for your specific
This is in my opinion the Ultimate Anti Aging Medicine – giving your cells exactly the type of food they need to work at their peak performance.
And that is one of the keys to Anti Aging my friend; give your body what it needs and it will take care of itself! This together with whole body detoxification, which will remove all the heavy metals, toxins and chemicals from your cells and body, is I believe a critical component of any successful anti aging program.

Dear Doctor Theodore,
I am currently living in China where the eating lifestyle is kind of strange. They eat dog, mice, sparrows, different tpyes of animals, liver and kidneys of other animals… a lot of weird stuff…. is that healthy? abnormal? I try to stay away from it because it’s out of my custom to each such strange things but the people here claim that they have special health benefits to the body… what do you think?
