Anti Depressants Increase Risk of Spontaneous Abortion By 68%
By Dr Theodore | June 9, 2010
The growing use of anti depressant medication is worrying, as it seems a large number of doctors routinely prescribe these drugs for the rapidly growing epidemic of stress, anxiety and depression in our society.
A recent large study which looked at over 5000 women who had a clinically detected spontaneous abortion was published in the Canadian Medical Journal.
The study has now revealed that anti depressant drugs taken by pregnant women lead to an alarmingly high rate of spontaneous abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy.
The conclusion of the study was that “The use of antidepressants, especially paroxetine, venlafaxine or the combined use of different classes of antidepressants, during pregnancy was associated with an increased risk of spontaneous abortion”.
Paroxetine (i.e, Paxil or Pexeva) and venlafaxine (i.e, Effexor, Trevilor etc) are commonly used prescription drugs and it their use has become more popular in western countries as the rates of depression skyrockets. Millions of men and women all over the world are now on these drugs, and the numbers are growing everyday.
Apart from the now clear problems associated with antidepressants and miscarriage, they also cause many more long term health problems.
In my opinion they also eventually lead to chronic addiction and a reliance on these little pills just to be able to function, as the symptoms of withdrawal can be severe.
This just goes to show that most modern drugs that are supposedly here for our own good and to improve our life in so many ways in reality cause far more problems than they solve.
Natural AntiDepressants
Don’t become a victim and succumb to a potent antidepressant. There are many other ways to improve your health, both physical and mental, which are natural and in the long run will not create ANY addictions.
Any and all mental problems can be traced back to either: systemic toxicity, nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, unresolved emotional traumas or a combination of the above.
It is important to completely cleanse and detoxify your body initially to remove all the accumulated toxins, and then to look at your nutrition intake and make sure this is balanced.
Having your hormone levels closely examined, and if low in any particular hormone, having that boosted using bio identical hormone therapy can also go a long way to resolving depression and other mental problems.
